Last week, our team traveled to Baku for the World Urban Forum (WUF), organized by UN-Habitat. The event served as a global stage for us to showcase how health-centric design is transforming the future of our cities.
During the forum, we led sessions on the UN-H Urban Health Quick Scan and the Healthy Cities Generator (HCG). A significant highlight was our participation in the High-Level Special Session on The Pulse of Healthy Homes, where we discussed the critical link between the built environment and public wellbeing.
One of our core messages resonated deeply with attendees: Planning impacts health, and better health means significant savings in medical expenses. The Healthy Cities Generator (HCG) addresses this directly by:
- Quantifying Impact:
Providing evidence-based analysis to measure health and economic outcomes. - Prioritizing Action:
Helping decision-makers identify which urban interventions offer the highest “health return on investment.” - Mobilizing Funds:
Using solid data to unlock funding for health-focused infrastructure.
We believe in placing life at the center of design. By merging scientific evidence with citizen engagement, we can create cities that proactively promote health rather than just reacting to illness.
The incredible reception in Baku confirms that the world is ready to prioritize health in the urban agenda. We returned home with a wealth of new perspectives and potential collaborations from every corner of the globe.
We are proud to be on the right path, but the work is just beginning. We are here to help you build the healthy cities of tomorrow.
